Operating your car parks more efficiently
We support a large number of customers who want to limit the number of spaces a company can use in their car park. We developed our Occupancy feature, which allows CloudPass users to set a limit on the number of vehicles allowed on the car park at any one time. So a company may have 100 vehicles registered on our system, but set a limit of 50 vehicles. This means that when the 51st vehicle arrives at the site, we know not to let them in. Our customers also couple this with our LED display. If a vehicle is denied access, our LED display will then advise them that they have reached their limit.

Companies can offer incentives for employees to drive alone by capping parking spaces. This shifts commuters toward public transport, cycling, carpooling, or walking, lowering traffic congestion, emissions, and the company's carbon footprint. ANPR enhances this by enforcing access via a "permit list" or "allow list" of registered plates, ensuring only authorised (often limited) vehicles enter. For example, in cases where spaces are insufficient for all staff drivers, ANPR restricts entry to promote alternatives.

Fewer spaces force better utilisation of existing ones. CloudPass ANPR automates access control, tracks occupancy in real-time, and prevents unauthorised parking. This reduces queues, calms traffic around the site, and maximises usage without overcrowding. Data from ANPR helps identify no-shows or patterns, allowing dynamic allocation.

ANPR instantly identifies vehicles, denying entry to unauthorised ones and reducing risks like intrusion or misuse. In limited-space scenarios, it ensures reserved spots go to permitted users (e.g., carpoolers or essential drivers), minimising disputes and creating a "smarter, fairer" experience.

Providing fewer spaces lowers land/building costs (or frees land for other uses). ANPR reduces operational expenses by automating enforcement—no need for badges, tickets, or extensive staff—while preventing abuse. It also cuts maintenance compared to traditional systems.

In regions with schemes like the UK's Workplace Parking Levy (WPL), limiting spaces can reduce liability charges on employers while funding public transport improvements. ANPR aids compliance monitoring without expensive infrastructure.
